Vanuatu, a South Pacific island nation, suffered a devastating magnitude 7.3 earthquake that resulted in the loss of 14 lives and left hundreds injured. The earthquake struck near the country’s biggest city, Port Vila, on a collection of 80 islands with a total population of 330,000 residents.
The quake, which occurred at a depth of 57 kilometers (35 miles), caused widespread destruction and left many individuals trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings.
